THE HOLISTIC WAY

As well as offering traditional behavioural training for dogs and other animals, I also use a holistic approach to emotional and other problems that may occur by using specific therapies. The more I work with dogs the more difficult and more deep-seated I find their problems. Straight dog training just won't work satisfactorily on any animal with bruised emotions or a history of past abuse.

By using therapies, it is possible to reach right into an animal's psyche and begin helping him to heal. Then, it's necessary to help the owner to connect and continue that healing by introducing emotional and psychological supports that allow an animal to feel safe and then build up trust in their carer.

Often behavioural, emotional, psychological & some physical problems are stress-related.

As a trainer, I help relieve the stress by using TTouch, Animal PsychAromatica, Flower Essences & Reiki combined with advice on basic training, nutrition & teaching people to listen to their animals.

This combination is a hugely powerful tool which can promote the health & wellbeing of any animal & deepen the inter-species relationship.

The holistic way can help deal with all animals & all sorts of problems such as:
Separation Anxiety, aggression, fear, Cushing’s Disease, warts, sarcoids, skin problems & much more..

SEPARATION ANXIETY has become a huge problem since lockdown. Our pets got used to us being around the whole time and they helped us to get through those awful dark days of isolation.

Now that many people are back at work full or even part-time, this emotional problem is still a major factor in their lives, even more so because dogs are being left alone for long periods of time and they're not used to it and that can cause destruction in the home or, even worse, self-harm to the pets themselves.

This has been one of the major reasons that huge numbers of dogs are being surrendered to rescue centres.

Separation anxiety can be one of the most difficult problems to heal. But, there are ways to improve the situation either by making compromises or using alternative methods such as essential oils, flower remedies and/or TTouch. It also means re-thinking the way you treat your dog that allows him to be more self-reliant when left alone for short periods. That self-reliance starts as soon as you bring home your puppy or rescue. You can gently and firmly teach him to learn to be self-sufficient by firstly encouraging him to play or sleep by himself. If there's always at least one human continually interacting with him, he never learns how to be content on his own. It's important to start that lesson from day one. It's not cruelty; rather it's the kindest method to help him grow up in a balanced manner.

SO BEFORE YOU SURRENDER YOUR PET TO A RESCUE CENTRE, HAVE A CHAT WITH ME TO FIND OUT ALTERNATIVE POSSIBILITIES. IT'S SURELY WORTH IT IF YOU LOVE YOUR ANIMALS!
